SUBJECT: GALETON ROAD IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. M3001 —
PROJECT ACCEPTANCE

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council accept the work performed by R.C. Becker & Son, Inc. on the Galeton Road
Improvements, Project No. M3001; direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of
Completion; and direct staff to release the 10 percent retention 35 days after the Notice of
Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices as provided by law have been filed.
BACKGROUND
On November 30, 1999, the City Council awarded a contract for Galeton Road
Improvements, Project No. M3001, to R.C. Becker & Son, Inc. This project installed curb
and gutter along the west side of the street; installed a catch basin to relieve drainage
problems; reconstructed existing driveway approaches; and repaired the asphalt roadway
surfacing. This project improved the segment of Galeton Road from Soledad Canyon Road
to Stillmore Street.
The contractor completed the work within 25 working days out of a specified 50 working
days. This work was completed by R.C. Becker & Son, Inc. on March 22, 2000 and accepted
by the City Engineer on March 30, 2000.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION
Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
Total budget for the Galeton Road Improvements, Project No. M3001, is $118,850.00. The
total project cost is $114,052.00 (for a project savings of $4,798.00).
