LM 99-00-10 — PROJECT ACCEPTANCE DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services City Council accept the work performed by Acacia Landscaping & Erosion Control, Inc. on the Lyons Avenue Median Landscape Improvements — Phase I, Project No. LM 99-00-10. Direct the City Clerk to file the attached Notice of Completion. Direct staff to release the project retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no Stop Notices, as provided by law, have been filed. On February 8, 2000, City Council awarded Project LM 99-00-10 to Acacia Landscaping & Erosion Control, Inc. This project consists of median landscaping along Lyons Avenue between Interstate 5 and Orchard Village Road, as shown on the attached Project Location Map. The project was completed on September 17, 2000, to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services. Several sections of stamped concrete on median noses and turn pockets were previously deleted from the project to allow for construction of traffic improvements in the area. The turn pockets will be completed with stamped concrete as part of the traffic improvements. ALTERNATIVE ACTION Other action as determined by Council. FISCAL IMPACT Council authorized a construction budget of $314,700 for this project. The total cost for construction of this project was $302,546.60. The project was funded through the Valencia Areawide Landscape Maintenance District T-1 Account No. B2002401. NOTICE OF COMPLETION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: 1. The City of Santa Clarita, a municipal corporation, is the owner in fee, except for the right-of-way upon which it has been constructed, of a certain public improvement known as: Lyons Avenue Median Landscape Improvements, Phase I — Project No. LM 99-00-10. 2. The City's address is: 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 300, Santa Clarita, CA, 91355- 2196. 3. The general location of said public improvement is: Medians along Lyons Avenue, between Interstate 5 and Orchard Village Road, in the City of Santa Clarita, County of Los Angeles, State of California. 4. On February 8, 2000, a contract to construct said public improvement was awarded to: Acacia Landscaping, Inc. 604 S. San Marcos Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93111. 5. Work under said contract was completed on January 11, 2000 to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and was accepted by the City on October 10, 2000.
