BACKGROUND On November 28, 2000, the City of Santa Clarita City Council conducted a hearing on the Newhall Parnters Golden Valley Road Project which consisted of the City Council approving the VTTM 48892 and certifying the EIR for the project In addition, the City Council introduced an ordinance and passed it to a second reading for tonight's meeting. The ordinance consisted of rezoning the above referenced project from RS (Residential Suburban) to RS(PD) (Residential Suburban Planned Development) zoning. The addition of the Planned Development overlay gives the applicant the ability to have reduced street right- of-way widths and private streets.
