SUBJECT: PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT UPGRADES - PROJECT NO. P1001
BID AWARD
DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Council award the contract for Playground Equipment Upgrades - Project No. P1001 to John
Burgeson Contractors, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $175,699.45 plus
the balance of the total project budget (approximately 9 percent of the contract award) as a
contingency expenditure. Authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute all documents,
subject to City Attorney approval.
BACKGROUND
On December 14, 1999, City Council authorized the advertisement of Project P1001. This
project consists of constructing improvements in and around the playground areas at Almendra
Park and Valencia Meadows Park.
