S2001 DEPARTMENT: Transportation & Engineering Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council approve Program Supplement Agreement No. 042 for construction of the Jan Heidt Metrolink Station in Newhall; and authorize the City Manager or his designee to execute this agreement. BACKGROUND Project No. S2001 is constructing a new Metrolink station in the community of Newhall. The construction contract for this project was awarded to Terra -Cal Construction, Inc. on May 11, 1999. Cycle 9 funding required award of construction by June 30, 1999 (note: on July 16, 1999, the State extended the award deadline for Cycle 9 projects to June 30, 2000). A master agreement has been executed between the State and the City covering the general requirements of the SLTPP program. Subsequent program supplemental agreements are executed for each project detailing the project scope and costs. Upon City Council approval of the agreement specific to this project, the City can seek reimbursement for construction costs from the State. Resolution No. 99-50 was executed on April 13, 1999, to provide a blanket resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute all program supplement agreements to the Master Agreement No. SLTPP-05450 and is attached for reference. This action eliminates processing a resolution for each program supplement agreement, but still requires City Council approval of the agreement prior to execution by the City Manager. The deadline for receiving reimbursement from the State for construction costs for Cycle 9 is June 30, 2003. Cycle 9 is the last funding cycle the State will be processing, as this program is no longer being funded by the State. pIten .. - PROGRAM SUPPLEMENT AGREEMENT NO. 042 January 25, 2000 — Page 2 ALTERNATIVE ACTION Other action as determined by the City Council.
