CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Darcy called to order the special meeting of the City Council at 4:06 p.m.
ROLL CALL
A quorum of the City Council was present; absent were Councilmembers Klajic and Ferry.
A quorum of the Governing Board was present. A quorum of the Facilities Foundation was
present.
FLAG SALUTE
Dennis King, President of the Hart Governing Board, led the flag salute.
INTRODUCTIONS
George Caravalho, City Manager, and Bob Lee, Superintendent of the Hart District,
offered opening comments and made introductions.
ITEM 1
GOLDEN VALLEY ROAD PHASE 1 AND HIGH SCHOOL SITE, PROJECT NO. S3016
Robert Newman, Assistant City Engineer, discussed estimated costs of the project, and
pending agreements. Evan Aldrich, CIP Consultant, pointed out features of the project on
a map.
Jim Frankian, President of R. T. Frankian & Associates, discussed the soils and geology
constraints of the project.
William Rose, President of William Rose & Associates, Inc., discussed the process and
various review stages in developing the project plan.
Tony Ward, Associate Vice President of Arcadis Geraghty & Miller, discussed the
environmental assessment and various tests conducted on the site.
In response to inquiries from various members of the Council, Board and Foundation,
additional information was provided by staff, the consultants, and a representative of
Sukut Construction.
It was noted that a meeting of the Board would be held on March 8, 2000 for further
discussion and action. Further, a meeting of the City Council would be held on March 14,
2000 for further discussion and action.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Jennifer Kilpatrick commented on pending agreements with Barry Petroleum. Connie
Worden-Roberts offered support of a new business park and road and commended staff for
their efforts. Allan Cameron commented on successfully completed projects by the School
District and supported this shared project.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Darcy adjourned the joint meeting at 6:14 p.m.
