CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
CITY COUNCIL ANNUAL MEETING WITH
SUPERVISOR MICHAEL D. ANTONOVICH
OCTOBER 4, 2000
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Darcy called the meeting to order at 8:16 a.m.
ROLL CALL
All Councilmembers were present with the exception of Councilmember Smyth.
FLAG SALUTE
Mayor Darcy led the salute to the flag.
WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS
Mayor Darcy welcomed representatives from the City, the County and the public to the
meeting. All in attendance introduced themselves.
CITY/COUNTY COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS
Mayor Darcy reviewed collaborative efforts including stormwater utility, cleanup of the
Santa Clara River and I-5 improvements.
ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION
All Councilmembers submitted questions regarding Supervisor Antonovich's opinion on
increasing the size of the Board; supporting the City's sphere of influence proposal; a joint
city/county transit impact fee; annexation; creating a more representative MTA Board;
and improvements to the animal farm at Hart Park.
Supervisor Antonovich and County staff provided comments on each topic.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Addressing the Council and Supervisor at this time was Lynne Plambeck regarding the
County's failure to enforce conditions of approval on projects and Allan Cameron
regarding opposition to the TMC proposal.
CLOSING REMARKS
George Caravalho, City Manager, thanked the Supervisor for his support with Golden
Valley Road and suggested items for future collaboration included preservation of
Whitney Canyon and working on a parking facility for the Sheriff, Court and Fire
Departments.
Supervisor Antonovich thanked the City for the opportunity to meet again and presented
a proclamation to City Manager Caravalho for receiving the ICMA Program Excellence

Award for Outstanding Public -Private Partnerships for the Manufacturing Education
Center Project.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Darcy adjourned the special meeting of the City Council at 9:05 a.m.
