HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-12-12 - RESOLUTIONS - AMEND PERSONNEL RULES (2)RESOLUTION NO. 00-160 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING AND ADOPTING THE PERSONNEL RULES PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE PERSONNEL SYSTEM WHEREAS, Section 6 of Ordinance 88-62, of the City of Santa Clarita, requires the City Council to adopt and amend as necessary Personnel Rules; and WHEREAS, Section b of Ordinance 88-62, of the City of Santa Clarita, requires that these rules establish regulations governing the personnel system; and WHEREAS, Ordinance 88-62 was adopted on January 10, 1989. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA does resolve as follows: SECTION 1: The Personnel Rules attached hereto are hereby adopted and. amended. SECTION 2: That the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 12th day of December, 2000. Vacation Leave: The time at which an employee shall take vacation leave shall be determined by the appointing authority with due regard for the wishes of the employee and with particular regard for the needs of service. Regular and Probationary employees shall accrue vacation at the rates specified in the City's Salary Resolution and Administrative Policy III -1.1. Vacation accruals for the first and last months of work will be prorated based on the percentage of days in the month the employee is on the payroll. Accumulation of unused vacation leave credit which exceeds three (3) times an employee's annual accrual shall be converted to pay at the applicable rate and paid out to affected employees in August of each calendar year unless otherwise authorized by the City Manager.
