A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA,
MABZNG FINDINGS THAT INSUFFICIENT WRITTEN PROTESTS
HAVE BEEN FILED AND APPROVING AND
ORDERING THE ANNEXATION OF 576 ACRES OF
CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORYI)ESIGNATED AS
"ANNEXATION NO. 1998-02 (NORTH VALENCIA 2)"
TO THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles
adopted its resolution, making determinations and approving the proposed annexation to the
City of Santa Clarita of territory described in Exhibit A and mapped in Exhibit B attached
hereto and by this reference incorporated; and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles has
directed the City of Santa Clarita to proceed with the annexation following a duly noticed public
hearing, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk set Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council
�^ Chambers of the City Hall, 23920 Valencia Blvd., 1st Floor, Santa Clarita, California, as the
[ date, time, and place for said hearing on the proposed annexation and the property owners in
E the said territory were duly informed of their right to file a written protest against the
annexation with the City Clerk at any time prior to the conclusion of the hearing on the
proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, the reason for this annexation is to promote sound planning and land use
practices in the affected territory; and
WHEREAS, the regular County assessment roll is utilized; and
WHEREAS, the affected territory will not be taxed for existing bond indebtedness of the
City of Santa Clarita; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing was duly and regularly conducted by and before the City
Council at its meeting of November 14, 2000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Clarita, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby declares said territory is found to be uninhabited
and a legal description of the boundaries of the annexation is set forth in Exhibit A and a map
of the boundaries is set forth in Exhibit B, attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 57075 of the Government Code, it is hereby
found that written protests, if any, have been filed and not withdrawn by owners of land who
own less than 50% of the total assessed value of land within the affected territory.
SECTION 3. The Local Agency Formation Commission approved this proposed
annexation subject to the following condition: The affected territory is withdrawn from County
Road District No. 5.
SECTION 4. The City Council hereby orders the territory described in Exhibits A and
B annexed and directs the City Clerk to transmit one (1) original and seven (7) certified copies
of this resolution with applicable fees required by Section:54902.5 of the Government Code to
the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Los Angeles County.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and certify
this record to be a full, true, correct copy of the action taken.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 14" day of November, 2000.

ANNEXATION No. 98-02
Beginning at a point in a curve portion of the northwesterly side line of
Copper Hill Drive, 100 feet wide, said curve being concave southeasterly having a
radius of 1800.00 feet, and to which point a radial line bears N. 37° 24' 56" W., as
shown on map of Vesting Tract No. 52111, filed in Book 1218, pages 1 to 15
inclusive, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, said
point distant northeasterly along said curve 1022.45 feet from the southwesterly
terminus thereof, also said point being an angle point in the boundary of the City of
Santa Clarita per Annexation No. 1995-03, as same existed on December 23, 1999,
and having established grid coordinates of N 1,985,105.59 feet E 6,388,792.45 feet,
Zone 5 of the California State Coordinate System (NAD83); thence northeasterly
494.72 feet along said northwesterly side line through a central angle of 150 44' 51"
to the northeasterly terminus thereof, a radial of said curve to said northeasterly
terminus bears N. 21° 40' 05" W.; thence southerly along said radial line 50.00 feet
to a point in the centerline of said Copper Hill Drive, as shown on said map, said last
mentioned point being the beginning of a non -tangent curve concave southeasterly
and having a radius of 1750.00 feet and to which beginning a radial line bears
S. 21e 40' 05" E.; thence northeasterly 174.97 feet along said last mentioned curve
through a central angle of 5e 43' 43' thence tangent to said last mentioned curve N.
740 03' 38" E. 444.05 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave northwesterly
and having a radius of 1750.00 feet; thence northeasterly 527.58 feet along said last
mentioned curve through a central angle of 170 16' 24" to the intersection with the
centerline of Decoro Drive as shown on Vesting Parcel Map No. 24981, filed in
Book 288, pages 51 to 53 inclusive, of Parcel Maps, in the office of said Recorder,
thence leaving said last mentioned curve, on a non -tangent line along said centerline

65.01 feet along said curved centerline, through a central angle of 2e 04' 10" to the
centerline intersection of said McBean Parkway and said Decoro Drive as shown on
said Vesting Tract No. 44687, said intersection also being an angle point on the
boundary of Certificate of Completion filed March 20, 1997 as Instrument No. 97-
422828, said Certificate being referred to as Annexation No. 1992-04 to the City of
Santa Clarita; thence southerly, northwesterly, and northeasterly along the westerly,
northerly, and southeasterly sidelines of Annexation No. 1992-04, Annexation No.
1995-06, the Formation of the City of Santa Clarita per document recorded
December 15, 1987 as Instrument No.87-198330, O.R., and Annexation No. 1995-
03, following the same in all its various courses and curves to the point of beginning.
Containing an area of 576.26 acres, more or less.
