A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA
TO EXTEND A NO -PARSING ZONE
ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SIERRA ESTATES DRIVE
OPPOSITE VALLEY VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California provides
for local authorities to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles on certain streets
or highways or portions thereof during certain or all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, a request was made to extend a no -parking zone located on the north
side of Sierra Estates Drive across from Valley View Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, it is consistent with normal traffic engineering practices to extend
the no -parking zone near the school
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the existing no -parking zone along the north side of
Sierra Estates Drive be extended from the eastern end of the zone to Friendly Valley
Parkway (550 additional feet). The total length of the no -parking zone would be 700 feet.
The existing time period, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., school days only, would remain.
SECTION 2. That the no -parking zone shall apply when appropriate signs and/or
curb markings giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Section 1.
SECTION 3. That staff shall install the necessary signs and/or curb markings to
effect this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 11TH day of JULY, 2000.
