SUBJECT: CENTRAL PARK MAINTENANCE OFFICE BUILDING
TENANT IMPROVEMENTS — PROJECT NUMBER F4001
AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council approve the plans and specifications for Project Number F4001 provided by
Abacus Engineering, and authorize advertising for bids for Central Park Maintenance
Office Tenant Improvements.
BACKGROUND
During Fiscal Year 2000/2001 mid -year adjustments, City Council approved budget for the
design and construction of Central Park Maintenance Office Building Tenant
Improvements. The improvements include: a small kitchenette, required bathrooms and
shower, a staff meeting area, cubicles, and office space for the Park Supervisor. The
Engineer's Estimate for this project is approximately $170,000.
Staff has completed the design phase, and is preparing to advertise for bids. City Council is
being asked to authorize staff to advertise a notice inviting bids for the construction of the
Central Park Maintenance Office Building Tenant Improvements.
It is anticipated that the award for construction will be in August 2001 with construction to
begin in September 2001. The project is expected to be completed in October of this year.

Other action as determined by City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $200,000 is budgeted in Fiscal Year 2000/2001 Budget, and is
available in Account Numbers: F4001001 and 7310-7331.
Plans and specifications are available for review in the City Clerk's reading file.
