HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-06-26 - AGENDA REPORTS - REFUSE FEE TRACKING (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: June 26, 2001 City Manager Approval: Item to be presented SUBJECT: TRACKING OF REFUSE FRANCHISE FEES DEPARTMENT: Administrative Services RECOMMENDED ACTION Barbara Boswell City Council direct staff to establish a separate organization code to track expenditures funded with refuse franchise fees, effective July 1, 2001. BACKGROUND At the June 12, 2001 City Council meeting, it was requested by Councilmember Smyth that a special accounting system be set up to more easily track expenditures made from franchise fees paid by waste haulers. The City's accounting system allows separate organization codes to be set up to account for expenditures. A special organization code can be set up that will be used only for those expenditures funded with franchise fees. ALTERNATIVE ACTION 1. Direct staff to continue accounting for franchise fee revenues and expenditures as currently set up. 2. Other action as determined by the City Council.
