HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-04-10 - AGENDA REPORTS - TAX SHARING SANDIST ANNEX 314 (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval Item to be presented by: L Jeffre_ v Lambert CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: April 10, 2001 SUBJECT: TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT ANNEXATION NO. 314 DEPARTMENT: Planning and Building Services RECOMMENDED ACTION Adopt a resolution approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation No. 314. BACKGROUND Los Angeles County Sanitation District Nos. 26 and 32 provide wastewater treatment services cooperatively through the Santa Clarita Valley Joint Sewerage System. To provide wastewater treatment service to property service area boundary must located outside of the District's service area, the process, sharing resolutio expanded through the annexation process. As part of this is adoptedd bby on to provide the required funding to the Sanitation Districts y the public agencies responsible for providing services to the subject property. Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For annexation No. 314, a total of 1.2219 percent of the annual tax increment attributable to the land area involved in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation District No. 26. Of this total, the City is contributing 0.1263 percent of its revenues from the annual tax increment for the annexation area. This annexation is for the newly created assessment area for three single-family residences on Arriba Drive and Barbacoa Drive in the City of Santa Clarita. Enclosed are new duplicates of resolutions invol requested, in writing, annexation of their respective propertyving your city and others. The applicants have to receive off-site disposal of sewage. into the County Sanitation Districts in order The resolutions are being distributed to all parties for signature in counterpart. Therefore, you will only be receiving signature pages for your city. Please execute the enclosed duplicate resolutions and return all copies to this office as you have in the past. Upon completion of the annexation process, your office will receive fully executed copies of the tax sharing resolutions for your files. Your continued cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
