HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-04-10 - AGENDA REPORTS - TAX SHARING SANDIST ANNEX 315 (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval Item to be presented by� Jeffrev Lambert CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: April 10, 2001 SUBJECT: TAX SHARING RESOLUTION ANNEXATION NO. 315 DEPARTMENT: Planning and Building Services RECOMMENDED ACTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT Adopt a resolution approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation No. 315. BACKGROUND Los Angeles County Sanitation District Nos. 26 and 32 provide wastewater treatment services cooperatively through the Santa Clarita Valley Joint Sewerage System. To provide wastewater treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the service area boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a tax -sharing resolution to provide the required funding to the Sanitation Districts is adopted by the public agencies responsible for providing services to the subject property. Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For annexation No. 315, a total of 1.2219 percent of the annual tax increment attributable to the land area involved in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation District No. 26. Of this total, the City is contributing 0.1263 percent of its revenues from the annual tax increment for the annexation area. This annexation is for the newly created assessment area for an existing apartment complex located on Scherzinger Lane, north of Sierra Cross Avenue.
