BACKGROUND Los Angeles County Sanitation District Nos. 26 and 32 provide wastewater treatment services cooperatively through the Santa Clarita Valley Joint Sewerage System. To provide wastewater treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the service area boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a tax -sharing resolution to provide the required funding to the Sanitation Districts is adopted by the public agencies responsible for providing services to the subject property. Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For annexation No. 318, a total of 1.1836 percent of the annual tax increment attributable to the land area involved in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation District No. 26. Of this total, the City is contributing 0.1263 percent of its revenues from the annual tax increment for the annexation area. This annexation is for the newly created assessment area north of Adon Avenue and west of Sierra Highway in the City of Santa Clarita. FISCAL IMPACT As proposed, the annexation to Sanitation Districts No. 26 should result in no adverse fiscal impact to the City. Enclosed are new duplicates of resolutions involving your city and others. The applicants have requested, in writing, annexation of their respective property into the County Sanitation Districts in order to receive off-site disposal of sewage. The resolutions are being distributed to all parties for signature in counterpart. Therefore, you will only be receiving signature pages for your city. Please execute the enclosed duplicate resolutions and return all copies to this office as you have in the past. Upon completion of the annexation process, your office will receive fully executed copies of the tax sharing resolutions for your files. Your continued cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
