HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-03-27 - AGENDA REPORTS - VALLEY STREET EIR (2)CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR City Manager Item to be presented 15y-: -jIeffrey Lambert DATE: March 27, 2001 SUBJECT: MASTER CASE NO. 99-377 - VALLEY STREET/CALGROVE BOULEVARD GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT DEPARTMENT: Planning and Building Services COMMENDED ACTION City Council adopt a resolution approving the proposed project as identified in the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Valley Street/Calgrove Boulevard Amendment to the Circulation Element of the General Plan. BACKGROUND The project includes eliminating the secondary highway designation from this section of roadway on Valley Street and Calgrove Boulevard between Maple Street and Creekside Drive and constructing two terminus abutting culdesacs completely prohibiting any through traffic__ except for emergency vehicles. On February 27, 2001, the Santa Clarita City Council directed staff to prepare a Council resolution approving the proposed project. The project area consists of a portion of Calgrove Boulevard and Valley Street between Creekside Drive and Maple Street. The project site is located at the intersection of Calgrove Boulevard and Valley Street. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS The Council may approve any of the alternatives included in the FEIR or it may give staff other direction as appropriate. FISCAL IMPACT The cost of constructing the proposed project and installing the required mitigation measures has not been determined. After the City Council adopts the attached resolution, staff will conduct a detailed cost analysis of the mitigation measures and will provide the Council with those expense figures.
