ITEM 1 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. CORPORATE SPONSORSHIPS - At the January 16, 2001 Budget Study Session, Council expressed an interest in pursuing more private / public partnerships. One of the opportunities many cities have taken advantage of is private / public partnerships in the form of corporate sponsorships of City events and facilities. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive report, and provide direction to staff to pursue a formal sponsorship agreement for City events, including an exclusive vending contract. ITEM 2 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - A strategic plan was completed in December 1999 to get a better understanding of the Santa Clarita Valley Tourism Bureau's priorities and three-year goals. The Tourism Bureau has become more of a marketing vehicle to support the on-going annual events, hotels, and local attractions. It also supports new events, such as the SBC Senior Classic, by linking the event organizers to the City and providing advertising and marketing support.
