HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-01-23 - RESOLUTIONS - GRANT FUND SCAQMD/MSRC APPLICA (2)r RESOLUTION NO. 01-12 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO THE SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT/ MOBILE SOURCE AIR POLLUTION REDUCTION REVIEW COMMITTEE FOR FUNDING UNDER THE ALTERNATIVE FUELS SUMNTION FUND MATCH PROGRAM WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita, a political subdivision of the State of California, wishes to apply for and match with AB 2766 dollars an allocation of funds through the Alternative Fuels Subvention Fund Match Program (hereinafter referred to as "Subvention Fund Match Program'); and WHEREAS, the South Coast Air Quality Management District/Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "SCAQMD/MSRC"), has issued a Notice of Funding Availability for the Subvention Fund Match Program and is authorized to approve funding allocations, which will be made available directly through the SCAQMD/MSRC; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita, a member of the Clean Cities Coalition, wishes to purchase eight Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles and to build a supporting infrastructure for these vehicles, including two CNG slow -fill stations, modifications to the maintenance facility, and training for City mechanics. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA does resolve as follows:. SECTION 1: The City of Santa Clarita shall submit to the SCAQMDWRC an application to participate in the Subvention Fund Match Program in response to the NOFA, due on February 1, 2001. The City will request 100% matching of AB 2766 dollars towards the purchase of five heavy-duty CNG vehicles (up to $20,OOO vehicle) and two medium -duty CNG vehicles (up to $10,000/vehicle. A 60% match of AB 2766 funds will be requested for CNG slow -fill stations, facility improvements, and mechanic training. SECTION 2: If the application for funding is approved, the City of Santa Clarita hereby agrees to use the Subvention Fund Match Program funds for eligible activities in the manner presented in the application, as approved by the SCAQMD/MSRC, and in accordance with regulations cited above. It may also execute any and all other instruments necessary -or required by the SCAQMD/MSRC for participation in the Subvention Fund Match Program. SECTION 3: The City of Santa Clarita authorizes the City Manager to execute in the name of the City of Santa Clarita, the application, the Standard Agreement, and all other documents required by the SCAQMD/MSRC for participation in the Subvention Fund Match Program, and any amendments thereto.
