HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-02-13 - RESOLUTIONS - MTA 2000 CALL FOR PROJECTS (2)Poo I RESOLUTION NO. 01-15 i A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF LETTERS OF AGREEMENT FOR GRANT FUNDS AWARDED THROUGH THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY'S 2000 ABBREVIATED CALL FOR PROJECTS WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita submitted ten grant applications to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) through the 2000 Abbreviated Call for Projects, requesting approximately $31 million in transportation grant funding; and WHEREAS, six of the City's ten applications received rankings high enough to receive a total of $12,698,000 of MTA grant funds; and WHEREAS, the City's projects recommended for funding will provide tremendous benefit to our local roads, transit services, and bike trail system; and ? WHEREAS, the City must enter into a contract, known as a Letter of Agreement (LOA), with the MTA to receive the grant funds; and WHEREAS, The LOA specifies how the grant funds will flow to the City over the next three fiscal years, as well as how the City will provide the local match for each project. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA does hereby resolve as follows: That the City desires to accept the grant funds awarded to the City through the MTA 2000 Abbreviated Call for Projects. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to accept the MTA grant funds and execute any documents that may be necessary on behalf of the City, including but not limited to Letters of Agreement (LOA) between the City and the MTA. That the local match required for the MTA grants is $21,311,000, which the City agrees to spend in accordance with the LOAs.
