A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA
VACATING A PORTION (EXCESS RIGHT-OF-WAY)
OF RAILROAD AVENUE, A PUBLIC STREET,
IN THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
WHEREAS, the excess right-of-way of Railroad Avenue is not required for street or
highway purposes and the adjacent business owner requests that it be vacated; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles and the utility companies will retain
easements over the portions to be vacated; and
WHEREAS, the proposed vacation was reviewed and a Notice of Exemption for the
vacation of the public street in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act
was certified, and such notice was filed with the County Clerk of the County of Los Angeles;
and
WHEREAS, under Chapter 4, Summary Vacation, of Part 3 of Division 9 of the
rte' Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, no public hearing is required and no
i public hearing was held.
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Section 8334 of Part 3 of
Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Santa Clarita, California, does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is hereby found and determined that the portion of
Railroad Avenue, as described on Exhibit "A" and shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and
incorporated herein by this reference, which real property located in the City of Santa
Clarita, County of Los Angeles, State of California, is no longer needed for present or
prospective use based on the fact that this street right-of-way is considered excess
right-of-way, and is not required for present street or highway purposes.
SECTION 2. That within the street to be vacated, there are public utility facilities
that would be affected by the vacation; therefore, easements are hereby reserved and
excepted from the vacation for public utility purposes as described on Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
RECTION 3. That City staff of the City of Santa Clarita is instructed to record a
certified copy of the resolution in the office of the Registrar -Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles, at which time the portion of Railroad Avenue vacated will no longer be a
public street.

BEGINNING AT THE MOST NORTHERLY CORNER OF LOT 1 OF BLOCK 25 AS SHOWN
