SUBJECT: CENTRAL PARK PHASE II - PROJECT NO. P4004 - PROJECT
ACCEPTANCE
DEPARTMENT: Parks, Recreation, and Community Services
_RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. City Council accept theworkperformed by Terra -Cal Construction, Inc. on the Central Park Phase
II Project - Project Number: P4004.
2. Direct the City Clerk to file with the Los Angeles County Recorders Office the attached Notice of
Completion.
3. Direct staff to release the remaining 5% retention 35 days after the Notice of Completion is
recorded, provided no stop notices, as stated by law, have been filed.
BACKGROUND
On May 27, 2001, City Council awarded Central Park Phase II - Project Number: P4004, to Terra -Cal
Construction, Inc. This project consists of the following construction work: four sports fields, restroom
building, walkways, irrigation system, landscaping, basketball courts, and a parking lot. The project
was completed to the satisfaction of the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services on
October 8, 2002. All work has been completed to the satisfaction of the City of Santa Clarita. Phase
II is expected to be open for public use in January of 2003, which will allow additional time for turf
establishment.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
Council authorized a construction budget of $2,671,485.81 for this project. The total construction cost
of the project was $2,670,914.52. The project was funded as follows:
Account No P4004001-8001 $ 1,771,485.81
Account No P4004213-8001 $ 900,000.00
