For approximately 11 years, the City of Santa Clarita has provided funds for community
organizations through the Community Services Grant Program. Each year, a Community
Services Grant Committee is assembled to determine funding categories, review and rate
applications, and make final funding recommendations. In the past, funding has been used
to provide programs in the Arts, Violence Prevention, Beautification, Drug and Alcohol
Prevention, Literacy, and After School Programs.
This year's funding categories are the Arts, Tolerance and Diversity, and Junior High and
High School Off -Hour Programs. Thirty-nine grant applications were received, with
requests totaling $178,956.10. The breakdown per category is as follows:

Tolerance and Diversity — 9 applications, totaling $37,622.10
Junior High and High School Off -Hour Programs — 12 applications, totaling
$49,580.00

selected grant applicants. The maximum funding for each applicant is $5,000. Twenty-two
