SUBJECT: STONECREST ANNEXATION AREA PREZONE,
LOCATED NORTH OF SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD AND
EAST OF SHADOW PINES BOULEVARD
DEPARTMENT: Planning and Building Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council adopt an ordinance which approves Prezone 01-001.
BACKGROUND
On February 12, 2002, the City of Santa Clarita City Council conducted a hearing
on the Stonecrest Annexation Area Prezone and General Plan Amendment, which
consisted of the City Council adopting the resolution approving General Plan
Amendment and the mitigated negative declaration prepared for the project. At
that meeting, the City Council adopted a resolution approving the General Plan
Amendment to RS (Residential Suburban) for the Stonecrest Annexation Area.
In addition, the City Council introduced an ordinance and passed it to a second
reading for tonight's meeting. The ordinance consists of prezoning the project
site, consisting of 177 acres developed with 500 single family homes approved and
developed under Los Angeles County's zoning of R-1-5,000 (residential, 5, 000
square foot minimum lot size), to the City's RS (Residential Suburban) land use
designation.
FISCAL IMPACT
The proposed action is a zone change only. No fiscal impact is anticipated.

Clarita adopted Ordinance No. 02-2 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA TO
APPROVE PREZONE NO. 01-001 (MASTER CASE O1-068) FOR THE STONECREST
ANNEXATION AREA LOCATED NORTH OF SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD AND THE
ANTELOPE VALLEY FREEWAY AND EAST OF SHADOW PINES BOULEVARD IN
THE COMMUNITY OF CANYON COUNTRY OUTSIDE OF AND ADJACENT TO THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA CITY LIMITS
by the following vote:

Weste, Darcy, Kellar, Smyth, Ferry

ABSENT:
None
A certified copy of the complete text of the ordinance is posted and may be read in the City
Clerk's Office, 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Suite 304, Santa Clarita, and/or a copy may be
obtained from that office.
