HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-02-12 - AGENDA REPORTS - TMC CONTR AMEND (2)AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approva#RRiic1kPutnam ' Item to be presented by CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: February 12, 2002 SUBJECT: CONTRACT AMENDMENT: ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES FOR TRANSIT MIXED CONCRETE (TMC) PROJECT DEPARTMENT: City Manager RECOMMENDED ACTION Amend contract amount with Willdan Associates by an amount not to exceed $55,000, from $84,000 to $139,000 (Account #1211-8110, Project #06.00), for environmental services related to the TMC project and authorize the City Manager, or designee, to sign all documents, subject to City Attorney approval. BACKGROUND Since September 1999, the City of Santa Clarita has retained the services of Willdan Associates for environmental support of the City's review of the Soledad Canyon Mining project proposed by TMC. The original contract amount was $23,850. Based on subsequent City Council direction to actively oppose the project, Willdan's services and project involvement have been expanded and on-going contract modifications have been undertaken as needed. Accordingly, change orders have become necessary, and the total contract cost is now estimated to be $139,000, through June 2002. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS 1. Put additional environmental professional services out to bid. 2. Other direction as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Overall funding for the City's TMC effort have previously been budgeted in account 1211- 8110 for FY 2001/2002, and the requested contractual amount is available in that account for this contract amendment. Accordingly, no additional fiscal impact is anticipated. ATTACHMENT: Contract available for review in the City Clerk's Reading File.
