MODIFICATIONS TO THE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE

RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council conduct second reading and adopt an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
TITLE 16 AND TITLE 17 OF THE SANTA CLARITA MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING
VARIOUS AMENDMENTS TO THE UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT CODE (UDC)".
BACKGROUND
On November 23, 2004 and January 11, 2005, the City Council received a presentation and
conducted public hearings regarding updates to the Unified Development Code (UDC). At the
November 23, 2004 meeting, the City Council separated the modifications to the Oak Tree
Preservation Ordinance which will be heard on February 8, 2005. As part of the public hearing,
on January 11, 2005, the City Council introduced the amended UDC Ordinance and passed it on
to a second reading. The adoption of this Ordinance this evening would have an effective date of
February 24, 2005.
