A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF
AN APPLICATION TO THE SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT
DISTRICT/MOBILE SOURCE AIR POLLUTION REDUCTION REVIEW COMMITTEE
FOR FUNDING UNDER THE ALTERNATIVE FUELS
LOCAL GOVERNMENT MATCH PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita, a political subdivision of the State of California,
wishes to apply for and match with AB 2766 dollars an allocation of funds through the
Alternative Fuels Local Government Match Program (hereinafter referred. to as "Match
Program"); and
WHEREAS, the South Coast Air Quality Management District/Mobile Source Air
Pollution Reduction Review Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "SCAQMD/MSRC"), has
issued a Notice of Funding Availability for the Local Government Match Program and is
authorized to approve funding allocations, which will be made available directly through the
SCAQMD/MSRC; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita, a member of the Clean Cities Coalition, wishes
to build a fast -fill station for its CNG transit fleet that will be open to the public.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City of Santa Clarita shall submit to the SCAQMD/MSRC an
application to participate in the Local Government Fund Match Program in response to the
NOFA, accepted on December 1, 2002. The City will request 50% matching of AB 2766 dollars
towards the purchase and installation of fast -fill equipment. The station will have four
dispensing units capable of dispensing a minimum of three diesel equivalent gallons per
minute. The application shall contain additional requests for bonus matches for being open to
the public 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and for being located in a CNG service gap area.
SECTION 2. If the application for funding is approved, the City of Santa Clarita hereby
agrees to use the Local Government Match Program funds for eligible activities in the manner
presented in the application, as approved by the SCAQMD/MSRC, and in accordance with
regulations cited above. It may also execute any and all other instruments necessary or
required by the SCAQMD/MSRC for participation in the Local Government Match Program.
SECTION 3. The City of Santa Clarita authorizes the City Manager to execute in the
name of the City of Santa Clarita, the application, the Standard Agreement, and all other
documents required by the SCAQMD/MSRC for participation in the Subvention Fund Match
Program, and any amendments thereto.
