SUBJECT: SUMMARY VACATION OF A STORM DRAIN EASEMENT, TRACT NO,
33746, LOT 11- IN THE VICINITY OF VALENCIA BOULEVARD AND
MCBEAN PARKWAY
DEPARTMENT: Transportation and Engineering Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council adopt a resolution for the summary vacation of the storm drain easement, as
shown and described on the attached Exhibits "A" and 'B"; and direct City staff to record the
certified original resolution in the office of the Registrar -Recorder of the County of
Los Angeles.
BACKGROUND
Newhall Land has requested to vacate a portion of an existing storm drain easement, as
shown on and dedicated by Tract Map No. 33746, Lot 11, filed in Book 1056, pages 91-96
inclusive of maps. The storm drain has been relocated and this easement is no longer needed
and is considered an excess easement.
Under Section 8334 of the Streets and Highways Code, the legislative body of a local agency
may summarily vacate a public service easement if it is superseded by relocation.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by the City Council.
