HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-09-23 - RESOLUTIONS - DEVELOPER FEES FIRE PROTECTION (2)RESOLUTION NO. 03-125 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARTTA, CALIFORNIA, PERTAINING TO DEVELOPER FEES FOR FUNDING OF FIRE PROTECTION FACILITIES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARTTA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby make the following findings of fact: a. On July 14, 1992, the Council adopted Resolution No. 92-152 which established a financing plan to fund fire protection facilities in the benefit area designated as the Santa Clarita Valley, as part of the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County. b. On August 25, 1992, the Council adopted Ordinance 92-15 which authorized the establishment of a fee to fund fire protection facilities. C. On April, 13, 1993, the Council adopted Resolution No. 93-48 to amend Resolution No. 92-152, raising the fire fees to $.1937 per square foot of the new floor areas of buildings for FY 93-94. d. On September 14, 1994, the Council adopted Resolution No. 93-110 to amend Resolution No. 93-48, lowering the fire fees to $.1876 per square foot of the new floor areas of buildings for FY 93-94. e. On July 7, 1994, the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors adopted a fire fee of $.1868 per square foot. f. On August 23, 1994, the Council adopted Resolution No. 94-93 amending Resolution No. 92-152 lowering the fire fees to $.1868 per square foot of the new floor areas of buildings for FY 94-95. g. On August 22, 1995, the Council adopted Resolution No. 95-102 amending Resolution No. 94-93, lowering the fire fees to $.1820 per aquare foot of the new floor area of buildings for FY 95-96. h. On January 14, 1997, the Council adopted Resolution No. 97-3, increasing the fire fees to $.1884 per square foot of the new floor area of buildings for FY 96-97. On January 13, 1998, the Council adopted Resolution 98-5, increasing the fire fees to $.1930 per square foot of the new floor area of buildings for FY 97-98. Resolution No. 03-125 Page 2 j. On October 27, 1998, the Council adopted Resolution No. 98-128, decreasing the fire fees to $.1913 per square foot of the new floor area of buildings for FY 98-99. k. On September 28, 1999, the Council adopted Resolution 99-149, increasing the fire fees to $.1976 per square foot of new floor area of buildings for FY 99-00. On February 13, 2001 the Council adopted Resolution 01-18, increasing the fire fees to $.1977 per square foot of new floor area of buildings. SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby repeal all fees set forth by prior resolutions for the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County as originally established in Resolution No. 92-152 by the City Council. SECTION 3. Establish said Consolidated Fire Protection District fee to be $.3716 per square foot of the new floor area of building for fiscal year 2003-2004, calculated as provided for in Resolution No. 92-152 SECTION 4. Except as herein modified Resolution No. 92-152 shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall go into full force and effect within 30 days of City Council adoption of this Resolution. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
