A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING FILMING FEES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Clarita has conducted an extensive analysis of its
services in regards to filming, the costs reasonably borne of providing those services, the
beneficiaries of those services, and the revenues produced by those paying fees and charges
for special services; and
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing has been provided per Government Code
Section 6062a, oral and written presentations made and received, and the required public
hearing held on Tuesday, January 14, 2003;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Santa Clarita hereby adapts the
following schedule of fees:
Film Permit Fee Schedule
a. Motion Picture FEE
Application $275
Minor Revisions (rider) $40
Notification $75/location
b. Still FEE
Application $75
Minor Revisions (rider) $40
c. Road Use Fee: FEE
ITC & Closures $435/day
Parking $220/day
Special Monitor (4 hour minimum) $401hour
Permit Violations Double all permit fees
The permit application fee reflects and does not exceed the actual cost of processing
applications for motion and/or still film permits. The road use fee represents a combination
of compensation for the use of City roads and right-of-ways including, but not limited to, the
-.inconvenience of residents, pedestrians and motorists and the disruption regarding the
removal of public property from its ordinary and usual purposes as well as compensation
for the actual cost of processing the traffic plan and inspection.
SECTION 2. The City Council finds that the foregoing fees reflect and do not exceed
the actual cost of providing the service for which the fee is collected.
SECTION 3. This film permit fee schedule will be effective immediately after
adoption of this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of January, 2003.
