HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-06-22 - AGENDA REPORTS - AMEND AGMT LACO PROVIDE TRANS (2)Agenda Item: I O CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: Chris Daste DATE: June 22, 2004 SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO PROVIDE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2003/2004 DEPARTMENT: Field Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council approve the Amendment to the Agreement with the County of Los Angeles to provide public transportation services for Fiscal Year 2003/2004. Authorize the City Manager or designee to execute the Amendment, subject to City Attorney approval. BACKGROUND Per the existing 2003/2004 fiscal year agreement, the County of Los Angeles provides funds for public transportation services in unincorporated areas of the Santa Clarita Valley. During Fiscal Year 2003/2004, the City purchased thirteen new commuter buses. The County has requested that they fund its jurisdictional share of the cost of those buses from the County's 2003/2004 budget. This amendment will increase the County's maximum obligation under that contract by $170,563. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT The procurement of thirteen buses, and final payment to the manufacturer, is near completion. The County's ability to immediately pay its jurisdictional share of the cost of those buses will expedite final payment.
