HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-07-13 - AGENDA REPORTS - AQUATIC CHEMICAL BID AWARD (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT: Agenda Item: _ Ic— CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: July 13, 2004 Alf, Rick Gould AQUATIC FACILITY CHEMICAL BID AWARD Parks, Recreation & Community Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council award contract for pool chemicals and supplies to Inter Valley Pool Supply in the amount of $65,873.08, and authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents, subject to City Attorney approval. BACKGROUND The City of Santa Clarita operates six aquatic facilities located throughout the valley. In order to safely operate these sites, various chemicals are required to maintain proper water balance and sanitation. Staff conducted a formal bid process (PS -03-04-29) to procure these chemicals and supplies and received four bids as a result of this process. Of the responding bidders, Inter Valley Pool Supply was the lowest responsible bidder. Their proposed cost is $65,873.08. The following bids were received: • Inter Valley Pool Supply (Azusa) - $65,873.08 • Los Angeles Chemical (Southgate) - $70,903.21 • Waterline Technologies (Santa Ana) - $79,279.91 • Basic Chemical Solutions -partial bid (Santa Fe Springs/Pennsylvania) - $93,852.75 ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Funding for the pool chemicals and supplies purchase in the amount of $65,873.08, is included in the Fiscal Year 2004-05 budget in account # 7220-7312.
