MNS Engineers Santa Barbara
Consistent with federal guidelines, based on qualifications and management approach proposed

Given Jim Ament's experience on similar transit maintenance facility projects, the City is
confident that Jim Ament Construction will be able to oversee on-site matters and work with the
contractor successfully on this project. Construction of the facility is estimated for completion by
the summer of 2005.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
The proposed Transit Maintenance Facility is a federally funded transit project, with 80 percent
of the construction management services cost ($167,664.00) funded by Federal Transit
Administration (FTA) grants from Account No. F0003801-8001, and 20 percent ($41,916.00) to
be funded by local match contributions from Account No. F0003205-8001. The construction
management costs are included in the project's construction phase budget. No additional funding
is required.
