RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. City Council accept the work performed by MS Navarro Engineering for the Central Park
Phase H Lighting Project Number: P4005.
2. Authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion with the Los Angeles County
Recorder.
3. Authorize staff to release the 10% retention of $75,740.85, from account P4005-450-8001, 35
days after Notice of Completion is recorded, provided no stop notices have been filed.
BACKGROUND
In the Fiscal Year 2003-04 budget process, City Council authorized design and construction of
the Central Park Phase II Lighting. On March 23, 2004, City Council awarded a construction
contract to MS Navarro Engineering. This project installed lights on four multi -use sports fields,
three basketball courts, adjoining walkways, parking lots, and installed conduit service for a
future tennis court complex. The project was completed to the satisfaction of the Director of
Parks, Recreation, and Community Services on August 2, 2004.

Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding is budgeted and available in the FiscalYear 2004-05 Budget in Account Number:
P4005-450-8001.
