PARKS, EVENTS AND OPEN SPACE:
• Begin construction of North Valencia Two park and trail, a 17 -acre developer -funded
park project at McBean and Newhall Ranch Road
• Next steps 32 -acre Whites Canyon Park
ROADS/BRIDGES/FACILITIES/LANDSCAPING:
• Complete Golden Valley Road Phase 4 to Highway 14 (Horton constructed project)
• Start construction of the interchange at Soledad and Golden Valley Road as part of the
Cross Valley Connector
• Start construction of the "gap closure," Copperhill to I-5 as part of the Cross Valley
Connector
• Complete the northern portion of the swales project in Sand Canyon
• Complete phases one and two of the underground utilities project on Soledad Canyon
Road (from Camp Plenty east to Sierra Highway)
• Begin construction of the City's Transit Maintenance Facility in the Rye Canyon
Industrial Park
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
• Revitalization/Redevelopment of Downtown Newhall
• Begin construction on the Golden Valley Ranch commercial project at Golden Valley
Road and Highway 14
• Reach out to small businesses
• Re -vamp and improve the development process in the City's departments to ensure a
streamlined and efficient process
YOUTH:
• Begin construction of the new downtown Newhall Community Center
COMMUNITY/PUBLIC SAFETY:
• Continue multi -prong approach to preventing mega -mining in Soledad Canyon Road,
including legislative, legal and community-based effort
• Continue efforts to clean up the Whittaker-Bermite site
• Continue diligence to prevent the Las Lomas development project
• Siting & Construction of MRF
• Begin the "red light enforcement program" for heightened traffic enforcement
throughout the City
