SUBJECT: TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT
ANNEXATION NO. 337 AND NO. 339
DEPARTMENT: Field Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council adopt two resolutions approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property
tax revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation No. 337 and No. 339.
BACKGROUND
Los Angeles County Sanitation District No. 26 and No. 32 provide wastewater treatment
services cooperatively through the Santa Clarita Valley Joint Sewerage System. To provide
wastewater treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the
boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a
tax -sharing resolution to provide the required funding to the Sanitation District is adopted by the
public agency responsible for providing services to the subject property.
Local agencies receiving a portion of the property tax from the annexing area must determine the
amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For Annexation
No. 337, a total of 1.1362604 percent and 1.1375499 percent of the annual tax increment
attributable to the land area encompassed in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation
District No. 26. This annexation to the Los Angeles County Sanitation District is for the newly
created assessment area for 226 single family homes as part of the Wes Thompson Ranch
development.
Local agencies receiving a portion of the property tax from the annexing area must determine the
amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For Annexation
No. 339, a total of 1.1362604 percent and 1.1403163 percent of the annual tax increment
attributable to the land area involved in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation District
No. 26.
