HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-10-12 - AGENDA REPORTS - TREE MAINT RENEWAL (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT Agenda Item: _ OL CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: October 12, 2004 William Wittkopf RENEWAL OF TREE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT Field Services RECOMMENDED ACTION 1) City Council approve the renewal of the current contract for tree maintenance services with Tru Green Landcare for an amount not to exceed $450,000 per year, and 2) authorize City Manager or designee to execute all contract documents for the remaining renewal terms allowed per this agreement, subject to City Attorney approval. BACKGROUND In 200 1, the City entered into a one-year contract (#0 1 -0027 1) with Tru Green Landcare for the provision of tree maintenance services Citywide. This contract allowed for four additional one-year terms, renewable at the City's option and if mutually agreeable to both parties. Tru Green Landcare has provided exceptional service to the City throughout the current contract period. Their staff is both well-qualified to perform the work and knowledgeable of the City's standards for tree maintenance and care. The company has been consistently responsive to the City's needs when providing both day-to-day and emergency services. City staff routinely receives compliments from citizens regarding the professionalism exhibited by the contractor's crews when working in residential areas. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT Funds for this expenditure, in the amount of $450,000, have been budgeted in account number 5600-8001 Fiscal Year 2004/2005.
