CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL FLAG SALUTE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION ITEM 1 OAK TREE ORDINANCE AND PRESERVATION GUIDELINES OVERVIEW • The Oak Tree Ordinance (Ord. No. 89.10) was passed by the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita on April 25, 1989. The Oak Tree Preservation Guidelines followed shortly thereafter on September 11, 1990. The purpose of the Oak Tree Ordinance and the Oak Tree Preservation Guidelines is to "protect and preserve oak trees in the City, and provide regulatory measures designed to accomplish this purpose." The Ordinance grants the City the authority to protect oak trees within the City, while the Guidelines establish permit requirements, exemptions to the permit, the application process, oak tree reports, and criteria for maintaining oak trees. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive report regarding the current Oak Tree Ordinance and Preservation Guidelines, and provide staff with direction on how to proceed. ADJOURN Joint Study Session CONVENE City Council/Santa Clarita Redevelopment Agency Study Session *Study Sessions are for the purpose of allowing the City Council and staff to formally discuss and better understand major issues currently before the Ci CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL ITEM 1 PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2004-2005 ANNUAL BUDGET - DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW - At the April 20, 2004 City Council Study Session, staff presented an overview of the proposed fiscal year 2004-05 Annual Budget and Capital Improvement Program. Council also received information on the State's budget problems and issues staff dealt with in developing the draft budget. Tonight, staff will go through each department's budget in detail, including information on any new programs or projects that are being proposed for next fiscal year. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review and comment on the proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 2004-2005 Annual Budget and Five -Year Capital Improvement Program.
