A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE RECOGNITION
OF JUNE 11, 2004 AS A DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
WHEREAS, President Ronald Wilson Reagan, fortieth President of the United States,
and thirty-third Governor of California, died the fifth day of June 2004; and
WHEREAS, the President of the United States, George W. Bush, has by executive order
directed that executive departments, independent establishments, and other federal governmental
agencies be closed on Friday, June 11, 2004 as a mark of respect for former President Reagan;
and
WHEREAS, the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has by proclamation
authorized executive departments, and other state governmental agencies be closed on Friday,
June 11, 2004 as a day of remembrance for the life of President Ronald Reagan.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. Friday, June 11, 2004, shall be recognized as a Day of Remembrance for
the Life of President Ronald Reagan. The City Council hereby authorizes, under the provisions
of Ordinance 88-38, this day of this year to be observed as a City Holiday. City Hall offices will
be closed on this day in observation of this Day of Remembrance.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 81h day of June, 2004.
