The City will complete the remaining portion of the trail project under this contract. This project is federally funded under the State Transportation Enhancement Activities (TEA) Program. On March 1, 2005, the City received authorization from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to proceed with the call for bids and construction for the trail project. The TEA Program will reimburse the City 35 percent of the trail construction cost. On March 31, 2005, the City's Finance Division received bids for the project (Exhibit "A").
