HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-01-11 - AGENDA REPORTS - CEPA GRANT APPLICATION (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT: Agenda Item: J_ CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval Item to be presented by: January 11, 2005 Rick Gould RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY, INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD Parks, Recreation & Community Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council adopt a resolution authorizing submittal of a grant application for the Santa Clarita Park Playground Replacement Project to the Integrated Waste Management Board for the Waste Tire Playground Cover Surfacing Program. BACKGROUND The California Environmental Protection Agency has announced the return of a grant for the 2004-05 Fiscal Year from the Integrated Waste Management Board. The Waste Tire Playground Cover Surfacing Program makes monies available for public entities to receive 50% project funding up to $25,000 to install California recycled waste tire poured -in-place rubberized surfacing being placed under new play equipment. Upon approval of the resolution, a copy will be sent to the Integrated Waste Management Board to allow the submittal of the grant application by the City of Santa Clarita for the 2004-05 Fiscal Year. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council.
