HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-03-22 - AGENDA REPORTS - QUITCLAIM SLOPE EASEMENT LYONS (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: SUBJECT: Agenda Item: CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: March 22, 2005 Chistopher Price QUITCLAIM OF SLOPE EASEMENT FOR LYONS AVENUE AT SUMMERHILL VILLA Building and Engineering RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council adopt a resolution to quitclaim the slope easement that is no longer needed; direct the City Clerk to record the certified original resolution in the office of the Registrar -Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; and authorize the City Engineer to execute the quitclaim document relating to this item. BACKGROUND In 1967, as part of the road dedication along a portion of Lyons Avenue, an easement for slope purposes was dedicated to the County of Los Angeles, which allowed for the construction to widen Lyons Avenue in the area. The property encumbered by the slope easement was part of the recently constructed Surnmerhill Villa Development. As the adjacent property has been developed, the slope easement is no longer needed. The easement is not needed, because the alignment of the road was altered from its proposed location in 1967 to its current location. The easement was not vacated before, because development had not occurred to precipitate the request. The slope easement would be quitclaimed to the current owner of record, Surnmerhill Villa Development. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT None.
