HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-05-24 - AGENDA REPORTS - SANDIST ANNEX 343 TAX SHARING (2)Agenda Item: CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT CONSENT CALENDAR City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: David Peterson DATE: May 24, 2005 SUBJECT: TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT ANNEXATION NO. 343 DEPARTMENT: Field Services RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council adopt resolution approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation No. 343. BACKGROUND Los Angeles County Sanitation District Nos. 26 and 32 provide wastewater treatment services cooperatively through the Santa Clarita Valley Joint Sewerage System. To provide wastewater treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a tax -sharing resolution to provide the required funding to the Sanitation District is adopted by the public agency responsible for providing services to the subject property. Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For Annexation No. 343, a total of 1.1002495 percent of the annual tax increment attributable to the land area involved in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation District No. 26. This annexation consists of a single family home near the intersection of Condor Ridge Road and Circle G Drive. ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS Other action as determined by the City Council. FISCAL IMPACT As proposed, the annexation to Sanitation District No. 26 should result in no adverse fiscal impact to the City. ATTACHMENTS Joint Resolution for Annexation No. 343
