Item to be presented by: David Peterson
DATE: May 24, 2005
SUBJECT: TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT
ANNEXATION NO. 343
DEPARTMENT: Field Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council adopt resolution approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax
revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation No. 343.
BACKGROUND
Los Angeles County Sanitation District Nos. 26 and 32 provide wastewater treatment services
cooperatively through the Santa Clarita Valley Joint Sewerage System. To provide wastewater
treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the boundary must be
expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a tax -sharing resolution to
provide the required funding to the Sanitation District is adopted by the public agency
responsible for providing services to the subject property.
Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must
determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For
Annexation No. 343, a total of 1.1002495 percent of the annual tax increment attributable to the
land area involved in the annexation will be transferred to Sanitation District No. 26.
This annexation consists of a single family home near the intersection of Condor Ridge Road and
Circle G Drive.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
As proposed, the annexation to Sanitation District No. 26 should result in no adverse fiscal
impact to the City.
