City Council accept OTS Seat Belt Compliance Grant. 2. Increase estimated revenues in Account Number 453-5173 by $23,625. Increase estimated expenditures in Account Number 7448-8001 (Contractual Services) by $23,625. 4. Authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute any contract documents, change orders, or amendments arising out of this program, subject to City Attorney approval. BACKGROUND The City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriffs Station have been awarded a grant for $23,625 from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to implement the California Seat Belt Compliance Campaign (CSBCQ. The goal of CSBCC is to increase seat belt use statewide to 92% by July 2005. The grant will fund a local campaign to be conducted for a 21 -day period in May and June 2005, in support of the Click It or Ticket national mobilization. This grant provides for the reimbursement of costs for increased enforcement overtime for first-line Supervisors, Officers, and Clerical support to implement the Seat Belt Compliance Campaign. A MOVED ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS 1. Decline the OTS Seat Belt Compliance Grant. 2. Other direction as determined by City Council. Costs incurred must be in accordance with your project agreement and recorded in your accounting system. With the exception of clerical overtime, costs incurred prior to or after the two one-week periods identified in the grant agreement, are not reimbursable. Forms for the pre and post seat belt observation surveys, reimbursement and program reporting have been distributed by e-mail or fax to the grant coordinator.
