TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT
ANNEXATION NO. 340
City Manager's Office
RECOMMENDED ACTION
City Council adopt resolution approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax
revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation No. 340.
BACKGROUND
The Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District (formerly known as County Sanitation District Nos.
26 and 32) provides wastewater treatment services within the District's service area. To provide
wastewater treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the
boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a
tax -sharing resolution to provide the required funding to the Sanitation District is adopted by the
public agency responsible for providing services to the subject property.
Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must
determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. For
Annexation No. 340, a total of 1.0824127 percent of the annual tax increment attributable to the
land area involved in the annexation will be transferred to Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District
(formerly known as County Sanitation District No. 26). Of this total, the City is contributing
0.001116626 percent of its revenues from the annual tax increment for the annexation area.
This annexation consists of 19 existing single-family homes and one existing triplex located near
the intersection of Siena Highway and Scherzinger Lane in the City of Santa Clarita.
