A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA,
TO ESTABLISH A NO -PARKING ZONE AND OVERNIGHT PARKING RESTRICTION
WITHIN THE CENTRE POINTE BUSINESS PARK
WHEREAS, businesses are concerned that the presence of stored/abandoned vehicles
and commercial trucks decay the aesthetic appearance of the Centre Pointe Business Park;
WHEREAS, enforcement of the existing California Vehicle Code Section 22651
which allows vehicles to be parked on the public street for 72 consecutive hours has been
ineffective to address the issue of stored/abandoned vehicles in the Centre Pointe Business Park;
WHEREAS, schools in the Centre Pointe Business Park have expressed concern that
the stored commercial trucks along the north side of Golden Triangle Road, adjacent to the
existing railroad tracks, pose a safety issue for students;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. That a no -parking zone along the north side of Golden Triangle Road,
between Centre Pointe Parkway and Golden Oak Road, be established.
SECTION 2. That the no -parking zone shall apply between the hours of 12:00 am.
and 4:00 am. along both sides of Centre Pointe Parkway, between Spirit Court and
Golden Triangle Road.
SECTION 3. That the no -parking zone shall apply between the hours of 12:00 am.
and 4:00 am. along the south side of Golden Triangle Road, between Centre Pointe Parkway and
a point 1,700 feet east of Centre Pointe Parkway.
SECTION 4. That the no -parking zone shall apply between the hours of 12:00 am.
and 4:00 am. along the west side of Ruether Avenue, between a point 1,050 feet south of Golden
Triangle Road and Centre Pointe Parkway.
SECTION 5. That the no -parking zones shall apply when appropriate signs and/or
curb markings giving adequate notice thereof have been placed as described in Section 1.
SECTION 6. That staff shall install the necessary signs and/or curb markings to
effect this resolution.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of July, 2005.
