A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA, VACATING A PORTION OF
OLD SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD SOUTHERLY OF SHADOW PINES
BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA
WHEREAS, a portion of Old Soledad Canyon Road southerly of Shadow Pines
Boulevard is no longer needed as a public roadway; and
WHEREAS, sewer, water, and storm drain facilities will retain easements over the
portion to be vacated and have no objection to the vacation; and
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941,"
being Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the City
Council of the City of Santa Clarita does hereby resolve, declare, determine, and order as
follows:
SECTION 1. That it is hereby found and determined that the portion of Old Soledad
Canyon Road southerly of Shadow Pines Boulevard as described in Exhibit "A" and as shown on
Exhibit `B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, which real property
located in the City of Santa Clarita, County of Los Angeles, State of California, is no longer
needed as a public roadway for present or prospective use based on the following facts: That this
street vacation does not cut off the sole access to the properties of any person and does not
terminate a public service easement; and that the subject right-of-way is excess right-of-way not
required as a public roadway.
SECTION 2. That the public easements in, over, and across said property are reserved
to construct, upgrade, maintain, operate, replace, and remove the existing facilities as set forth in
Section 8340 and 8341 of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Santa Clarita, California, be instructed
to record the certified original resolution, in the office of the registrar of the County of Los
Angeles, at which time the area will no longer be a public road.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24's day of May, 2005.

Vacation Description
EXHIBIT "A"
Being a portion of land in Section 18, Township 5 North, Range 14 West, San Bernardino Meridian, in
the City of Santa Clarita, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows:
That portion of Soledad Canyon Road, 60.00 foot wide, as shown on Tract No. 25006, as per map
recorded in Book 763, pages 64 through 71, inclusive, of Maps, in the Office of the County Recorder
of said County and as described as Parcels 24-3A and 24-3B within that certain document recorded
May 22, 1951, as Instrument No. 2452, of Official Records, in the Office of the County Recorder of
said County, lying westerly of the City of Santa Clarita Boundary as shown on Tract No. 45933, as per
map recorded in Book 1200, pages 70 through 89, inclusive, of Maps, in the Office of the County
Recorder of said County and lying easterly of the southeasterly Right of Way line of Soledad Canyon
Road, 100.00 foot wide as shown on said Tract No. 25006.
The above described parcel is hereinafter to be vacated, as per this vacation procedure, as a single
parcel containing 38,343 Sq. Ft. (0.88 Acres) of land, more or less, in conformance with Section 66412
(d) of the Subdivision Map Act. Subject To: All covenants, Rights, Right of Ways and easements
recorded.
