BACKGROUND
In March of 2006, the Northpark community annexed to the City. City staff is currently working
with the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation to transfer the Northpark LMD, and its funds,
from the County to City. This process will involve the adoption of a joint resolution by the Los
Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Santa Clarita City Council at a future date. County
staff is in the process of drafting the joint resolution based on the requirements we have
communicated to them.
In anticipation of the LMD transfer, City staff issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) and
advertised it three times from May 28 through June 4, 2006. Additionally, a pre-bid conference
was held on June 8, 2006.
