HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-06-27 - AGENDA REPORTS - MC 04-444 SOLEDAD VILLAGE (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT: Agenda Item: K/ CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: June 27, 2006 P- ✓.�i�i� SOLEDAD VILLAGE PROJECT, MASTER CASE 04-444, SECOND READING AND ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE Community Development City Council adopt an ordinance entitled: " AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA APPROVING ZONE CHANGE 04-004 (MASTER CASE 04-444) TO AMEND THE CITY'S ZONING MAP AND CHANGE THE ZONING FROM COMMERCIAL OFFICE WITH A PLANNED DEVELOPMENT OVERLAY (CO -PD) TO COMMERCIAL NEIGHBORHOOD (CN) AND RESIDENTIAL MEDIUM HIGH (RMH), MAINTAINING THE PD OVERLAY, ON A 30 -ACRE PROPERTY ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD AT GLADDING WAY IN THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA" BACKGROUND On June 13, 2006 the City Council approved Master Case 04-444 and certified the Final Environmental Impact Report for the Soledad Village Project, consisting of General Plan Amendment 04-006, Tentative Tract Map 62322 and Conditional Use Permit 05-021. In addition, the City Council introduced an ordinance to change the zoning designation of the project site from Commercial Office with a Planned Development overlay (CO -PD) to Residential Medium High (RMH) and Commercial Neighborhood (CN). The PD overlay would be maintained. At the June 13, 2006 meeting the City Council passed the ordinance to a second reading for tonight's meeting. CA 91355 RE: Wiley Canyon Property — Donation in Conjunction with Soledad Village Dear Mr. Gould: Pursuant to our discussions, this letter serves to confirm that Newhall Land has agreed to donate the approximately 12 -acre Wiley Canyon property to the City of Santa Clarita in exchange for parkland credit under Chapter 16.15 (Park Fees or Dedication Requirements) of the City's Unified Development Code. The amount of credit provided to the Wiley Canyon property will be established prior to map recordation through negotiations between Newhall Land and the City.
