HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-02-28 - AGENDA REPORTS - MUNICODE AMEND MH (2)CONSENT CALENDAR DATE: SUBJECT: DEPARTMENT: Agenda Item: _ 4 -- CITY OF SANTA CLARITA AGENDA REPORT City Manager Approval: Item to be presented by: February 28, 2006 David Peterson AMENDMENTS TO SECTIONS 6.02 AND 6.04 OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING MANUFACTURED HOMES Community Development RECOMMENDED ACTION City Council adopt an Ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA, CALEFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 6.02 AND 6.04 OF THE CITY OF SANTA CLARITA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING MANUFACTURED HOMES"; and adopt a Resolution to amend the required daily reimbursement amount for manufactured homeowners in the case of a change of use of the mobile home park in which they reside. BACKGROUND At their regular meeting of the City Council on February 14, 2006, the City Council passed amendments proposed by staff and supported by the Mobile Home Panel to a second reading. Proposed amendments to section 6.04 address costs for daily reimbursements for mobile home owners in the case of a change of use to the mobile home park in which they reside. The proposed language would set these costs by resolution of the City Council. An increase in daily costs from $75 per day to $130 per day is recommended by staff to more accurately reflect current costs for food and lodging. The proposed amount is based on a survey conducted by staff of hotel room rates in the Santa Clarita Valley. Adjustments to this amount can be accomplished in the future by resolution instead of amending the ordinance. Administratively this is a much faster and more simple process.
