TAX SHARING RESOLUTION FOR SANITATION DISTRICT
ANNEXATION NOS. 280 AND 1009
City Manager's Office
City Council adopt resolution approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax
revenues resulting from Sanitation District Annexation Nos. 280 and 1009.
BACKGROUND
The Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District (formerly known as County Sanitation District Nos.
26 and 32) provides wastewater treatment services within the District's service area. To provide
wastewater treatment service to property located outside of the District's service area, the
boundary must be expanded through the annexation process. As part of this process, a
tax -sharing resolution to provide the required funding to the Sanitation District is adopted by the
public agency responsible for providing services to the subject property.
Local agencies receiving an apportionment of property tax from the annexing area must
determine the amount of tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies. Each
percentage listed below is the annual tax increment attributable to the land area involved in the
corresponding annexation and will be transferred to the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District:
• 0.9970704 for Annexation No. 280 for Tax Rate Area 00218
• 0.9981683 for Annexation No. 280 for Tax Rate Area 00219
• 0.9709208 for Annexation No. 1009
For each of these totals the City is contributing the following percentage of its revenues from the

annual tax increment for each annexation area:
• 0.001027682 for Annexation No. 280 for Tax Rate Area 00218
• 0.001027682 for Annexation No. 280 for Tax Rate Area 00219
• 0.001001609 for Annexation No. 1009
For Annexation No. 280 there is also a separate tax sharing resolution for a Street Light
Maintenance District in these annexation areas. The following is the percentage of the annual tax
increment attributable to the land area involved in the corresponding annexation and the
percentage of revenues from the annual tax increment for each annexation area:
• 0.9970704 and 0.000369622 for Annexation No. 280 for Tax Rate Area 00218
• 0.9981683 and 0.000370414 for Annexation No. 280 for Tax Rate Area 00219
These annexations consist of the following:
• Annexation No. 280 - one existing single-family home and an existing college on Placeritos
Boulevard.
• Annexation No. 1009 - 87 proposed single-family homes, 11 acres of proposed commercial
and one existing single-family home on Soledad Canyon Road between Sand Canyon Road
and Oak Spring Canyon Road.
ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS
Other action as determined by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
